At Ponte Vedra Beach Chiropractic, we offer physical rehabilitation programs to achieve optimal results by alleviating your pain and improving your condition. Chiropractic adjustments help to decrease pain, improve mobility, realign the spine, reduce nerve interference, and improve function. Integrating physical rehabilitation is a crucial component because it helps improve results, strengthen and stabilize the correction and prevent the injury and problem from recurring.
Benefits of Physical Rehabilitation
- Creates strength and stability of the core muscles and spine
- Improves posture and alignment
- Improves flexibility and mobility
- Improves balance and proprioception
- Improves movement patterns
- Helps to prevent injury
- Helps to alleviate pain

Types of Physical Rehabilitation Therapies
At Ponte Vedra Beach Chiropractic, our programs are customized to the patient, their specific problem, their ability, and their goals. We re-evaluate often so we can make changes if necessary to continue receiving optimal results. We design our programs with the following approaches:
- Therapeutic exercises – Specific exercises strengthen muscles, improve mobility and flexibility, improve core stability, and improve function. We use weights, exercise bands, postural exercises, and body weight exercises.
- Balance & proprioception training – Targeted exercises and approaches to improve stability, balance and posture. Balance is a particularly important aspect of brain health. We focus on improving balance and posture to promote optimal function, improve ability to perform daily activities and reduce the incidence of injuries.
- Stretching – Specific stretching techniques, such proprioceptive neurofacilitation (PNF) stretching improve pain free range of motion, flexibility, and mobility. Each protocol starts with stretching to warm up the muscles and improve blood flow to allow for a full, pain-free range of motion to achieve maximum benefits from the exercises.
- Traction – Mechanical or manual traction techniques distract and stretch areas of compression. Compression of joints from a loss of muscle strength and ligament stability is a common factor in spinal problems. Specific traction approaches help to reduce pain, improve mobility, and decrease compression of joints and nerves.

- Wobble Chair Exercises – These exercises are designed to target the core and lumbar discs by stretching and strengthening the core muscles. During the exercise, the lumbar discs are stretched and moved into different positions to help promote healthy fluid exchange (imbibition) into the lumbar discs. This helps to reduce disc degeneration and promote disc healing. Incorporating the head weighting system affects the entire spine by improving spinal strength and stability to improve posture.
- Whole Body Vibration – Performing exercises on the whole body vibration plate enhances strengthening and stabilizing of the spine to improve posture and balance. While on the vibration plate, head weighting may also be used to stimulate strengthening of the spinal muscles and core muscles and to help improve posture.
- Head Weighting System – Head weights may be applied to the front of the head during exercises on the whole body vibration plate and the wobble chair to stimulate strengthening of the spinal muscles of the upper spine to bring the head back over the body and improve posture.
- Repetitive Cervical Traction – A unique type of traction where the patient is standing up and the traction force stretches the spine from the neck down to the mid-back. This traction helps improve mobility and flexibility, decrease pain, and restore the normal cervical curve. It also helps the disc heal and slow down the degenerative process.
At Ponte Vedra Beach Chiropractic, we design tailor-made programs integrating chiropractic, physical rehabilitation, and traction to help you heal from your condition, move better, live without pain, and enjoy a vibrant, active lifestyle.
